About Me

What will our work together look like?

Therapy with me isn’t about sitting in a cold office while I nod silently and take notes. It’s about building a real connection where you feel safe, understood, and supported as you work through whatever brought you here. I bring curiosity, compassion, and a little humor into the room - because sometimes laughter can be just as healing as insight.

In our work together, you’ll have space to slow down, reflect, and feel truly heard. My goal is to create an environment where you can trust yourself as much as you trust me: a place where you can explore difficult emotions, notice patterns, and discover new ways forward. I see therapy as a collaborative process - we walk alongside each other, not me telling you who to be, but helping you uncover the strengths and wisdom you already carry.

The Nuts & Bolts

I offer sessions both in person at my Lakewood office in the West Denver Metro area, and online through secure Telehealth, so you can choose the setting that feels right for you.

I do not accept insurance because I see therapy as a human experience, not a medical obligation—this allows our work to be guided by your needs and goals, rather than shaped by insurance payers and the limitations of that system.

Many people also prefer not to have sensitive, deeply personal topics recorded in their medical history or subject to review by insurance companies. By working privately, what we discuss stays between us, creating a more confidential, trusting space.

How Others Describe My Style

“I have studied and worked alongside Maury for years now. He is a trusted colleague of mine and cares deeply about his work as a therapist. He is intelligent, humorous, and has a great sensibility for the depth of being human.“

“With a warm and compassionate presence, and impressive understanding of human struggle and mental health, Maury provides a space that's safe enough for clients to face the unfaceable. If you need a companion in the chaos, I would highly recommend Maury!“

- Nick Pepper, LPCC

“Maury is a fantastic therapist with a strong skill for building relationships and showing up for his clients in a way that makes them feel heard and comfortable. Maury's approach is gentle yet creative, unique, and not your typical therapist schtick.“
